POLICY
STATEMENT
Atonement Lutheran Church building, and grounds are provided through the Grace of God and should be used for His Glory.
Organizations whose beliefs and practices are not contradictory to the beliefs and practices of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod
may use Atonement
Lutheran Church for meetings and other events.
We request that all users, members, or nonmembers, should be mindful of the purpose of God’s House
and strive to maintain and honor its safety, longevity and beauty.
The Church Council is charged with the development of this policy
and delegates the responsibility of its implementation and coordination to the Board of Trustees.
As such, the Atonement Lutheran Church Board of Trustees has the right to alter the rental donation or deposit fees
or to amend or modify these regulations as necessary and appropriate.
Physical facilities include the parking lot, grounds, signage, rooms, furnishings, portable and stationary equipment.
All requests for the use of physical facilities will be submitted to Atonement’s Administrative Assistant in writing
on the Application for Use of Facilities Form.
The Administrative Assistant will approve the request in conjunction with the Board of Trustees,
and maintain a master schedule of facilities use in the church office and update it regularly.
POLICY GUIDELINES
- All activities will conclude by 11:00 pm. Sunday activities will be scheduled after 1:00 pm.
- All lights must be turned off and all outside doors locked.
- Facility users agree to fully indemnify and hold harmless Atonement Lutheran Church, its staff and officers from all loss (personal or otherwise), damage, claims, suits, expenses, or otherwise resulting from such use. Organizations, groups, or persons using the church facility are responsible for all damages to the church facility during its use, and will be charged for the actual cost for repair and/or replacement. All damaged or lost equipment should be reported immediately to the church office staff.
- Organizations, groups, or persons using furnishings or equipment will be responsible for all damages resulting from their use of them, and will be charged for the actual cost for repair and/or replacement.
- Any group of children and/or teenagers, regardless of size of group, must be always supervised by one or more adults.
- Food and beverage consumption is allowed only in the Great Room.
- Smoking of any kind, or any illegal drugs are not permitted anywhere in the facility or on the grounds.
- Advertising for political or anti-Christian organizations is not permitted on Atonement Lutheran Church premises. Permission to use Atonement Lutheran Church facilities is not synonymous with endorsement of any program.
- Posters, signs, decorations or other physical alterations must be approved from the church office staff prior to posting. The display must not cause damage to wall or bulletin boards. (painter’s tape is preferred)
- Use of church audio, audio-visual and/or stationary equipment in the sanctuary must be operated by a trained Atonement audio visual personnel only.
- A $10.00 refundable deposit is required to obtain a key fob for access to the facility. The key fob will be programmed so the renter can only have access to the facility on the days that have been approved to rent. Arrangements will be made with Atonement’s Administrative Assistance to pick up the key fob prior to the scheduled event. The deposit is due when picking up of the key fob and will be refunded upon it being returned.

- Set up and tear down of tables and chairs will the
responsibility of the renter. If
the renter would like the host to set up the room, there will be an
additional fee for this service.
- Host – if you are having an event other than a wedding
that consists of 75 people or more, serving food, and/or serving alcohol a
host is required to be at the event.
- Members may borrow tables and chairs for use at
home. Please refer Borrowing Chairs
and table policy.
- If Atonement’s Administrative Assistant is not
available to process a request Atonements President, Vice President or
Head Trustee may process and approve the application.
FACILITY USE FEES
Atonement
Lutheran Church does not charge a usage fee for members, community groups, service
groups or other nonprofit agencies that wish to use our facility for meetings
and groups of less than 75 people unless food is served.
Great Room - seats
150 for a banquet - $ 200 for a four-hour event or less, $25 for each additional hour
Sanctuary - seats 300 - $100 for a four-hour event or
less, $25 for each additional hour
Atonement’s
trained Audio Technician – $50 for a
wedding
Host – -Events in
the Great Room with 75 or more people, and food and/or serving of alcohol - $100 for a four-hour
event or less, $25 for each additional hour.
Host – Set up
and Tear down of Tables and Chairs - $100.00 fee.
All fees must
be paid upon receipt of application.
Users must provide
their own paper products, kitchen supplies, beverages, coffee, linens etc.
The Sanctuary, Great
Room/Kitchen must be returned to the way it was found at the conclusion of the
event.
Funerals for
Atonement Lutheran Church members and/or their immediate family are exempt from
these fees. If food or a meal needs to be provided, please see Atonement

If alcohol is
requested for any event, the group must complete the Alcohol Service Agreement
and pay the fees.

ALCOHOL
SERVICE AGREEMENT
Atonement Lutheran Church _ Columbus, OH
This
policy provides a structure for the reasonable and responsible use of alcohol
within Atonement Lutheran Church; to honor and protect those who do not or
should not consume alcoholic beverages.
Alcohol
may only be served by a caterer who provides the services of a professional
bartending/beverage concierge. The
Caterer must provide the following: Proof of Workers Comp, Health Department
Food Handlers permit, Proof of liability Insurance Coverage that also limits
the liability associated with alcohol consumption to the insured party.
There
is a $150 service fee for having alcohol service at Atonement Lutheran Church,
in conjunction with the Alcohol Service Agreement. This service fee is in
addition to regular rental rate for the facility. The Lessee must be a responsible adult, age
21 or older, with proof of identification. ( Atonement Lutheran Church (ALC)
will accept a valid driver’s license or other valid State picture identification
containing the date of birth as a substitute for a driver’s license.) The
Lessee must pay the service fee and sign the Alcohol Service Agreement in
person. The alcohol service agreement and Alcohol service fee must be paid and
signed at least 30 calendar days in advance of the event.

agrees to the following terms and conditions.
Whereas
the Lessee wishes to provide alcohol service at Atonement Lutheran Church
during the rental period set forth in the Rental Agreement and pursuant to the
terms of said agreement:

General Conditions:
- No
one under 21 may be served or consume alcohol.
- Must
comply with all City ordinances and State statues, including Ohio Liquor
Control Policies and guidelines.
- Agrees
to limit the number of guest to the determined occupancy of the Facility.
- Agrees
to accept responsibility for keeping all guests with alcoholic beverages
contained inside the Great Room.
- Atonement
Lutheran Church (ALC) reserves the right to escort any visitor off ALC premises
who appears to be intoxicated or is disruptive to the safety or enjoyment of
event participants or ALC staff. In such
event the Lessee agrees to defend and hold ALC harmless from and against
damages claimed by said visitor.
- Alcohol
may not be sold (no cash bars), and no money or tickets may exchange hands on
the premises. Gratuity arrangements
should be made with the caterer prior to the event.
- Alcohol
is not permitted on the premises unless a bartender/concierge, employed by the
caterer is on site for the dispensing of alcohol. All alcohol shall be brought on the premises
by the Caterer.
- Beer
Kegs are not permitted.
Indemnification/Damages
- Lessee
shall be responsible for any damage to the ALC premises and property caused by
Lessee or its guests and Contractor agents or employees. Damage done to the
facility and/or grounds shall be charged at current cost for repair or
replacement, plus labor costs for repair or replacement. This paragraph does not Constitute ALC’s sole
remedy.
- Lessee
assumes all liability for any injury to persons or damage to or loss of
property, in which injury, damage, or loss is directly or indirectly related to
the rental/event, including without limitation, liability arising directly or indirectly
from the dispensing of alcoholic beverages at the rental/event. Lessee shall
indemnify, protect and hold harmless ALC and all of it’s officers, employees,
volunteers, trustees, members thereof, against claims, damages, losses, liens,
cause of action, suites, judgments and expenses (including attorney fees and
other costs of defense) of any nature, kind or description brought for or
arising from, or on account of any injuries or damages received by any person
or property, resulting from all negligent, acts, errors, omissions by any
person directly or indirectly related to the rental/event unless such liability
is attributed solely to intentional acts of ALC. Lessee agrees that this indemnification
represents a material consideration to ALC, without which ALC wound not enter
into the agreement.
- Lessee
acknowledges they have read and understand this indemnification/Damages clause.
Miscellaneous
- Extent
of Agreement. This agreement and the associated Rental Agreement represent the
entire and integrated agreement between ALC and the Lessee and supercedes all
prior negotiations, representations, or agreements, either written or oral. This Agreement may be amended only by written
amendment prepared by ALC and signed by both parties.

- Governing
Law. This Agreement shall be governed by the law of the State of Ohio to the
exclusion of the law of any other jurisdiction.
- Severability. If any provision of the Agreement, or any
covenant, obligation or agreement contained herein is determined by a court to
be invalid or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect any other
provision, covenant, obligation or agreement, each of which shall be construed
and enforced as if such invalid or unenforceable provision were not contained
herein. Such invalidity or
unenforceability shall not affect any valid and enforceable application
thereof, and each such manner and to the full extent permitted by law.
- When
it is in the best interest of ALC, ALC may terminate this Contract, in whole or
in part by providing thirty (30) calendar days or other appropriate length of
time written notice to the Lessee prior to the effective date of termination.
