Items needed:

  • New or gently used clothing and shoes for men, women and children. Please see that all clothing is clean, ready to wear and in season. It would be helpful if it was also sorted by gender. Larger sizes for men and women, and maternity items are especially needed.
  •  New and gently used socks and underwear for men, women, boys and girls. White socks are preferred.

  • During cold seasons, coats, boots, thermals, hats, gloves (for men, women, boys, girls)

  • Household linens (Towels, hand towels, wash cloths, sheets, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, curtains).

  • Personal hygiene items (razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap, personal care for women). Remember us when you’re staying in hotels!

New Life on Tuesdays:

From 8:30am-11:30am, you are invited to come and help with the clothing room at New Life Methodist Church.

The clothing room is a part of their homeless ministry and is an organized and great way to serve others by giving them clothing (Matt 25:26).

This will involve sorting, hanging and doing whatever else needs done to keep the clothing room in shape.

Watch for fall volunteer dates.

New Life on Sundays:

From 6:30am-9:15am, you are invited to come and help distribute and serve food, pack lunches or staff the clothes room at New Life Methodist Church for their Sunday morning homeless ministry.

Watch for fall volunteer dates.

This is a well run program that allows us to be the hands and feet of God to some of those people who really need it.

For more information check out the video on their website called “Just Another Sunday.” http://www.newlifeunitedmethodist.org

CLOTHING ROOM:

New Life's free clothing room offers gently used clothing, household linens, new socks and underwear, and personal hygiene items to our neighbors in need. Set up like a store, our neighbors are free to come and shop for themselves and their families.

The clothing room serves an average of 2,500 individuals a month and is staffed by over 100 volunteers from partner churches and the surrounding neighborhood.

Breakfast Ministry

Every Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m., New Life's doors open to welcome 175+ our neighbors who are poor and homeless who come from shelters, camp sites and housing in the neighborhood They are greeted with hot, steaming coffee, cold cereal, and the smiles of our volunteers. At 8:30, we serve a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage, and toast. And when they leave, they also receive a sack lunch to enjoy later in the day.

Each Tuesday morning, when the Clothing Room is open, we also serve a similar free breakfast to over 100 of our neighbors.
